    COMMITTEE POSITIONS DESCRIPTIONS:

     

    Marketing Committee

    Number of positions: 1

     

    Job Description: Marketing Assistant

    Marketing Assistant will assist the Director of Marketing in producing and developing marketing concepts and creative materials for all initiatives undertaken by Commerce Without Borders. They will help use communications strategies in order to promote the club and it’s initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    1.Executing promotional ideas and marketing campaigns for events and initiatives as designed by the Director of Marketing and the rest of the executive committee

    2. Printing, posting, and distributing promotional materials as well as the opportunity to collaborate with the Director of Marketing for designing and creating such print materials

    3. Executing in-person marketing initiatives by actively engaging with students in all majors and years through handing out flyers, internal/external marketing, etc.

    4. Maintaining and helping design the official CWoB website using the chosen platform as directed by the Director of Marketing

    5. Updating CWoB’s social media on a consistent basis as directed by the Director of Marketing

    6. Brainstorming new marketing ideas to expand CWoB’s reach and active involvement in engaging fellow students through marketing initiatives

    Criteria for Selection:
    1. Previous marketing and/or public relations experience is an asset
    2. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and creative abilities
    3. Ability to efficiently manage multiple deadlines and responsibilities
    4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    5. Committed, dedicated, and well-versed with CWoB’s core values and vision
    6. Past experience with design principles, Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator, and other web design platforms is preferred.  7. Active user of social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
    8. Personal interest in social media and current trends is an asset
    9. Past experience with video-editing software (iMovie, Adobe After Effects, etc.) and photography is an asset
    10. Experience with persuasive and/or creative writing (blog, newspaper, personal interest, etc.) is an asset

     


    Events Committee

    Number of Positions: 2

     

    1. Job Description: Events Coordinator

    Inform marketing committee of events and logistics of those events. Responsible for mailing invitations and selling tickets. Ideally, the position holder is well connected in the community, has excellent verbal communication skills, and is not afraid to sell.

    Responsibilities:

    • Update invitation list, and pursues all avenues to create a broader audience
    • Oversee the design and printing of invitations and tickets with the marketing team
    • Manage the distribution of invitations and tickets in the most cost-effective and efficient manner
    • Establish method of sales and payment options
    • Provide a reconciliation of ticket sales and manage outstanding payments

     

          2. Job Description: Events Coordinator of General Members

    Recruits and coordinates volunteers for all events outlining their tasks, ensuring they bring a required level of skills and experience, and fosters an environment that promotes self-motivation and ambition to act on their own initiative as well as embracing team-concept. The ideal position holder is a “people-person” and has the ability to create groups that are much greater than the sum of their parts; recognizes and cultivates the potential in others, and infuse energy into members of the team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Establish a comprehensive list of potential volunteers and recruits for specific event tasks
    • Work with director to develop a list of event-specific jobs including time commitments and level of difficulty
    • Assist general members to establish a volunteer schedule including replacement help when needed
    • Establish a protocol for volunteer recognition
    • Create opportunities for volunteer succession planning through mentor program and post-event evaluations
    • Ensure the volunteer experience is meaningful, fulfilling and, most importantly, fun!

     


    Corporate Relations Committee

    Number of Positions: 1

     

    Job Description: Corporate Relations Assistant

    The Corporate Relations Assistant will assist the Corporate Relations Director with reaching out to NFPs and building long-lasting relationships with corporations. The Corporate Relations Assistant will work closely with the Corporate Relations Director for all tasks to build and maintain these relationships in the most efficient and professional manner. Since we are a brand new organization, this position is crucial to our growth.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain correspondence with current sponsors and partners by keeping them up to date with upcoming events or other updates
    • Research for potential sponsors and partners for current year and future years
    • Creating packages to offer to and attract both sponsors and partners
    • Brainstorm for new approaches when dealing with sponsors and partners about our expectations from them as well as the support we can provide for them
